DAY TRIP! I am lucky enough to be so close to Joshua Tree National Park. Only about 130 Miles (2 hour drive) away from Los Angeles.
One Sunday morning I woke up and randomly decided today is a good day to visit Joshua Tree. At first I thought it would be a beautiful day but as soon as I stepped outside of my LA apartment I was quickly reminded that we were in the middle of HEAT WAVE!
Despite the 90 degree weather at 10am in the morning, I still decided to pack up my camera gear and head out to Joshua Tree. I hopped into my trusty MINI Countryman and headed off to pick up the essentials:
Coffee - x1
soda - x1
beer - 6pk
water bottle - x1
PRO TIP: Always bring extra water when going to a desert with during a heat wave!
As you might have guess it was over a 100 degrees at Joshua Tree and I quickly realized I did not have enough water. BUT! I did manage to take some incredible photos during Golden hour and Blue Hour.
Joshua Tree did not disappoint. The calm cloudless sky was painted with beautiful pastel colors ranging from a deep rich lavender to a bright and rosy pink.
I took all of these photos on my digital camera. I also took a couple of film cameras so as soon as I develop the film I will be sharing those too.
I am super happy with how this photo set came out too!
